JMIR Publications and Jisc Partner to Renew Unlimited Open Access Deal for Six Leading UK Research Institutions
(TORONTO & LONDON, August 26, 2026) JMIR Publications, a leading independent fully open-access digital health research publisher, has renewed their Flat-Fee Unlimited Open Access Publishing Agreement with six UK partner universities through Jisc. The following six institutions have extended their commitment to funding open science and supporting their researchers:
- Newcastle University
- University of Leeds
- University of Manchester
- University of Nottingham
- University of Southampton
- University of Warwick
Replacing individual Article Processing Charges (APCs) with a publishing subscription eliminates administrative and financial obstacles for researchers choosing Open Access. Corresponding authors affiliated with these six institutions continue to be eligible to share their research immediately in any of JMIR’s portfolio of over 30 Gold Open Access journals at no cost to themselves. Under this agreement, researchers will be able to publish their work across the full spectrum of digital health with fully open access publishing.
